Letter from Charles B. Grissom

The University of Utah

June 5, 1995

Dear Julie,

I was quite surprised to receive your FAX today regarding your competitor's negative comments on the RSM. I have included several reprints and one pre-print. The pre-print is now in press in the Journal of the American Chemical Society. Two color slides of our data are also enclosed. The manuscript describes work done with Dale Edmondson of Emory University. Dale seemed to be impressed with the specifications of the instrument.

I am continually amazed at the capabilities of the instrument. With the Global Fitting software package, the spectral deconvolution and data interpretation process that used to require days, weeks, months, or years, can be accomplished within five minutes. It is very exciting to gain new insight so quickly.

With this kind of excitement, perhaps your new slogan should be: "So many enzymes, so little time..."

In the next few weeks, I will try to put together several pages of data that we have obtained with heme enzymes. The results are truly remarkable. Until them, please feel free to give out my name and telephone number to anyone who might be contemplating the purchase of an RSM stopped-flow unit.

Best Regards,

Charles B. Grissom
Assistant Professor of Chemistry
