Paul Boxrud, Ph.D. Staff Scientist
Start Date: April 18, 2001
Paul Boxrud came to Olis from Vanderbilt University where he was a post-doctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Paul Bock. Paul received his Ph.D. in chemistry from The Ohio State University under Dr. Lawrence Berliner. Originally from Wisconsin, Paul received a B.S. degree in chemistry from Carroll College, a small, liberal arts college in Waukesha. Much to the dismay of his family and friends in Wisconsin, Paul has drifted south as his career has progressed. He really enjoys Athens, however, especially the climate and the friendly people who live here.
At Olis, Paul has the responsibility of maintaining and installing Olis instruments, as well as keeping Olis on the cutting edge of spectroscopy instrumentation and software. He loves his job because it allows him to learn and help develop the technology behind spectroscopic instrumentation as well as learn about the interesting science that our clients are doing with it.
Paul and his wife Diane enjoy hiking, camping, scuba diving, and reading in their spare time. They love having both the mountains and the ocean within a short drive. Paul is an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. He doesn't get to go to many games, but thanks to technology he is able to follow his favorite team nonetheless.
Send Paul a message.
