The extraordinary "62 CD scans per second" ability of the Olis DSM 1000 CD spectrophotometer should be used when a sample is undergoing changes induced by photolysis, pressure, mixing, or other process. For best rapid-scanning CD results, the spectral range will be above 190 nm and the CD signal will be multiple millidegrees. And, if the sample is not changing, average the scans for best S/N.
