Olis 14 Sample Compartment with Cuvette Holders

In a Cary 14, and thus in an Olis 14, there is a sample compartment (left chamber) and a reference compartment (right chamber).

Normally, a 1 cm² cuvette is placed in each of the two locations for true dual beam detection (Abs = [sample-dark]/ [reference-dark])

There are two cuvette positions in the sample compartment, as illustrated by the movement of the holders. The 'first' position is for the sample in a 1 cm² cuvette. The 'second' position is for a sample in a long pathlength cylindrical cuvette. Alternatively, a second 1 cm² cell holder can be purchased for use in this second position for manual switching between sample A and sample B (wherein both would use the same reference signal).

The commodious chambers in this high-end spectrophotometer also support use of nearly every Olis cell holder, including the stopped-flow, variable angle thin film holder, etc. In addition, these chambers remove easily to be replaced with the Olis DSM CD module, transforming an Olis 14 UV/Vis/NIR spectrophotometer into an Olis DSM 17 CD.
